      <image:title>Home - Facilitating Zoo Facts</image:title>
<image:caption>The goal for this alphabet adventure is to teach more than the A-B-Cs and name 26 different animals. I want Zelda—and, more importantly, her audience—to learn something unusual about each animal through "zoo facts." Teachers and parents, looking for a fun activity or lesson plan for your students? Click here for a lesson outline and interactive worksheet!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Conservation through Curiosity</image:title>
<image:caption>The purpose of these "zoo facts” is to facilitate a teaching moment and pique children's curiosity to learn more about how and where these amazing animals live in the world. Why are lemur's tails longer than their bodies? How old is the oldest tortoise? (On record: 187 years old.) And why do iguanas sneeze?! Teaching children about the extraordinary animals of our planet—and encouraging them to find creative ways to protect native environments and species—can empower future generations of conservationists. 10% of each purchase goes to support the following conservation efforts.</image:caption>

AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides them with spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Most of the animals that arrive at the AWCC become permanent residents and will always have a home here. The Center maintains over 200 acres of spacious habitats for animals to feel at home and display their natural ‘wild’ behavior.”* Visit the AWCC: www.alaskawildlife.org *Text taken from the AWCC website.</image:caption>
